 Op dinsdag 1 december is het WERELD AIDS DAG. Voor de stedenband Dordrecht-Bamenda elk jaar een belangrijke dag. Want ook in Bamenda, gelegen in het Afrikaanse Kameroen, vormt aids een grote bedreiging. Elk jaar komen we met een bijzondere Actie!
Dit jaar door ‘prikken’ aan mensen uit te delen bij huisartsen van Dordrecht. Mensen worden deze weken in groten getale bij hun huisarts ingeënt tegen de Mexicaanse griep. Stichting Dordrecht-Bamenda wil, door middel van het uitdelen van pennen in de vorm van een vaccinatiespuit, aandacht vragen voor die andere wereldwijde epidemie: AIDS. In tegenstelling tot de Mexicaanse griep, bestaat er voor AIDS helaas nog steeds geen vaccin.
U kunt ook iets doen!
Aids kan worden voorkomen, namelijk door goede voorlichting, condoom-gebruik en betaalbare medicijnen. Als inwoner van Dordrecht kunt u ook iets doen. Bijvoorbeeld door Stichting Dordrecht-Bamenda en COPAAP te helpen mensen in Bamenda voorlichting en toegang tot medicijnen te geven.
